I'm excited to introduce one of several new features here on The Sewcialite!
The first one is called, as you can see, K.I.S.S. That Stands for
Keep It Simple, Sewcialite
I'll be highlighting my experience making garments using patterns marked with "Very Easy" or "Easy" labels. Sometimes I get ahead of myself and think that because I'm The Sewcialite, I should be able to make anything. But what I should be doing is focusing on easier pieces so that I can polish my skills.
Here's my first K.I.S.S.!
It's an oldie but goodie...a vintage Butterick pattern from 1993.
(Is anyone else having trouble wrapping their head around the fact that the 90s are now considered vintage?!)
Hmm...this first K.I.S.S. was a little sloppy for me. The directions were a bit confusing for me, so I tried to figure my way through it...and it shows. Plus, my cutting tools were giving me problems, although I've sharpened them. Dah well...
I absolutely love dresses and shirts with this sort of cold-shoulder
feature, so I'll be remaking this dress ASAPtually. Not sure if I'll be
using the same fabric, or pick a sold color next go round.
(Sorry my hair kept getting in the way lol)
The Sewcialite Was Seen Wearing...
Butterick Pattern #3014
Fabric via Gail K. Fabrics
Michael Kors watch
Louis Vuitton bag
I took a bit of a sewing break after the holidays, but I'm back to work once again. Can't wait to share more of my latest projects with you!
